Who said Summer was over? A week on from the day they said the season had changed, we experienced good bouts of hot weather in what has been termed an Indian Summer. Still rueing my loss at missing Lily Allen's gig at Get Loaded, and pondering the value of getting black market tickets for her sold-out November shows in London Astoria over eBay, i discovered that she was to be playing a small underground gig in a specially leased East London car park through my web crawls. £10 tickets to see her and Mylo among others in what I guessed would be a more intimate affair was hard to pass up. So off I went, armed with my new Lumix TZ1, I put its 10x Optical Zoom to good use. Pity i got overexcited about Lily Allen and set my shutter speed to 1 stop. Otherwise given the good stage lighting, I could have got more clearer shots of her. Took full videos of her opening with LDN and Smile though - will upload those soon. Pity she seemed so drunk and far up her arse from all the fame she has been getting (given she started out humbly on MySpace) that she left before signing any autographs after noone in the front of the crowd offered her a cigarette. And then there was Mylo who kicked a bottle at us while we were sitting down outside after his set. The girls didn't realise who he was, they were just pissed off that some idiot had done such a thing. Having the sharper eye, I immediately recognised him as he squatted down to apologise - so I blackmailed him for a photo with me. Haha. Where did you get your t-shirt from Mr Mylo? Oh and there was Mary Turner, part of the big group headed by Welshman Akira the Don. She's so pretty oh my goodness I just melted into the speakers when she walked past. What an ending (no...really, this time i promise) to Summer 2006!
