My 2nd Zero 7 gig, couldn't resist seeing them again. Jo was surprised to find tickets still available for the last gig of their UK tour on ticketweb, so duly persuaded David and Jon to go. So we headed down to dodgy Brixton to engage ourselves in a truly aural experience. We got seats in the upper circle, which was a blessing because the free standing area was packed by the time we reached. Although the rest of the girls were not present on tour, the mere presence of Sia sent us bopping along with delight, while the added vocals of José González and his guitar made time stand still. Their album "The Garden" is definitely not as good in my opinion as "Simple Things" and "When it Falls" but i must say that whatever the song, Zero 7, their band and their vocalists sure know how to put on a truly amazing show. I was literally mesmerised as I lived through Sia's melancholic rendition of "Distractions" and "Destiny", proving you can never hear a good song and singer enough. The show ended nicely by which we had worked up some appetite to head over to the famous Brixton MacDonalds where a drive-by shooting had taken place not long ago. Ahh, London.
