Since we had missed the Scissor Sisters' sold-out Halloween gig, it was inevitable that when Jo read that they were going to be playing this weekend we knew this was too good an opportunity to pass up. And it seemed like Destiny had a part to play when She handed Jon the O.C Soundtrack. It was as if She made him fall in love with Better than Ezra's "Juicy" which subsequently allowed him to appreciate the similar sound that was the Scissor Sisters. With Fate on our side, we rushed off after watching the Man Utd Chelsea match to Wembley Arena for the Final night of the "Ta-Dah" UK Tour. The prospect of seeing Lily Allen again as the opening act was truly the icing as we arrived in good timing free from the crowds. When we were seated, I couldn't believe the sheer positive energy that was radiating from everybody, no doubt aided by the 'Camper' sex. Even after Lily Allen had ended, the crowd continued being up for it, singing along as the DJ played "Cant Take My Eyes of You" on top of a really electro set. Almost seemed as if we were in Manumission once again. Just after 9, the Scissor Sisters arrived in their Elevator and from then on it was a non-stop ride through hit song after song from both their albums, filled in by cheeky and vulgar banter from the vocalists. The Scissor Sisters declared their intention from the beginning to get our asses up to dance - and with their mix of glam disco rock, it was virtually impossible to defy them. In the end, their latest hit "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" only seemed to punctuate their point in sweet irony.

Let me be the first to say this is my favourite photo of the band! Everyone is in it, and it's clear and Jake's bunny-ears just capture the whole feel of the event. Pity there wasn't more colour at the back
And all the Lily Allen Shadows, like out of a 19th Century Engraving in a Storybook!

ennyl wrote on Nov 27, '06 It also looks like one of those Victorian miniature brooches, must be the pinkish-semi-lace backdrop!
ennyl wrote on Nov 27, '06 Favourite song, favourite song!
ennyl wrote on Nov 27, '06 I see she noticed his hot pants too. Then again, no one can miss those stripes. Loving the bunny ears!
ennyl wrote on Nov 27, '06 Agreed! I think Jake's expression says it all too.
ennyl wrote on Nov 27, '06 It's always a bad idea to play 5-10, especially when chillis are involved. I quite liked the garlic, actually.
